| 10 UT researchers to get IBM cash
The IBM Austin Center for Advanced Studies will award more than $600,000 today to fund technology-related research at universities across the country, including $280,000 for 10 University of Texas professors.
This is the fifth year that the donations have been awarded. Donations range from $20,000 to $40,000.
"We try to foster relationships between IBM groups here in Austin who are interested in certain areas of research and help them work with universities who are doing similar research," said Ann Marie Maynard, program director of the Center for Advanced Studies and a researcher at the IBM Austin Research Lab.
The UT researchers chosen: Lizy John, Kathryn McKinley, Stephen Keckler, Randolf Bias, John Boisseau, Warren Smith, Edward Walker, Calvin Lin, Jim Dyer and Peter Stone. |
