Rational Software Architecture Workshop at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez

The IBM Academic Initiative team held a technical enablement session at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez in September 2005 to bring Rational's Software Architecture (RSA) skills to faculty and students. Willy Farrell facilitated the training to software students from the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) school who will begining using RSA for all of their projects.

Courses also include the use IBM WebSphere. Additionally faculty from CompSci, the Math Department and Business IS attended this most recent training. A follow on skills enablement will be held in December for all of the professors in those departments (15+). Plans are to infuse UML Modeling and Rational design and construction tools throughout their curricula. Other universities from Puerto Rico will also be invited to the December enablement session at UPRM to enable them with the training needed to jump start their skills to begin using IBM tools and technologies in their classes.
