UT Speaker Series IBM Austin Center for Advanced Studies UT Speaker Series The Austin Center for Advanced Studies coordinates a site-wide UT Speaker Series that was originally begun with the ECE Department at the University of Texas at Austin. Founded in 2000 by Joshua Friedrich, Technical Leader and IC Design Engineer for IBM's Enterprise Server Group. The program's success is now a result of participation by a wide variety of IBM divisions. Each year, UT-Austin Faculty in CS, ECE, the Business School and other UT Colleges have extended invitations to IBM techical leaders to be one-day Guest Speakers at a variety of undergraduate and graduate-level courses. This is a wonderful opportunity for IBM to share industry insights with students.
