This project provided a system for extracting topics from chat sessions. The extracted topics can then be applied in a number of ways: displaying the current topic of a chat or a set of chat sessions providing a table of contents for a lengthy chat session organizing topic-based browsing of a collection of chats. This project was a cooperative research venture between Lotus Research and IBM Almaden Research Center.
