IBM Medical Informatics Day 2009

Overview

IBM Research is hosting its Medical Informatics Day at the T J Watson Research Center in Hawthorne NY on Friday, December 4th, 2009. The theme for this year’s event is "Making Evidence Based Health Care Work in Practice". The goal of this one day event is to bring together researchers from the local area to share results, insights and foster new collaboration on challenges associated with realizing the value that the collection, management and analysis of data can bring to health care delivery. This event is being sponsored by Robert Morris, Vice President of Services Research at IBM Research and the IBM World-Wide Research Medical Informatics Professional Interest Community.

Route I-287 west to Exit 3, Sprain Brook Parkway north to the Route 100/100C/Eastview exit (this is the first exit you will come to on the Sprain). Turn left at the traffic light. Proceed through 3 additional traffic lights and make a right onto Route 9A North. Proceed through one more traffic light. Make a right onto Skyline Drive (there is a brown IBM sign at the entrance to Skyline Drive).

New Jersey
New York State Thruway (Route I-87) South, Cross Tappen Zee Bridge and follow Route I-287 East. Continue to Saw Mill River Parkway north. Continue on Saw Mill River Parkway north to Exit 25 Hawthorne/9A. At the light, make a right. Travel south on 9A and make a left onto Skyline Drive. (there is a brown IBM sign at the entrance to Skyline Drive).

Upstate New York
Route I-84 east across Newburgh-Beacon Bridge to Exit 16-S. Take Taconic State Parkway south to Saw Mill River Parkway, south, to Eastview exit. Turn left on Route 100C and proceed to Route 9A north. Make a left onto 9A north. Proceed through one traffic light. Make a right onto Skyline Drive (there is a brown IBM sign at the entrance to Skyline Drive).

New York City (Manhattan)
Henry Hudson Parkway north, which becomes Saw Mill River Parkway. Continue on Saw Mill River Parkway north to Exit 25 Hawthorne/9A. At the light, make a right. Travel south on 9A and make a left onto Skyline Drive (there is a brown IBM sign at the entrance to Skyline Drive).

John F. Kennedy International Airport
North on Van Wyck Expressway tot he Whitestone Expressway and continue north across the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge, to the Hutchinson River Parkway north to the Cross County Parkway exit and proceed west to the Bronx River Parkway. North on Bronx River Parkway to the Sprain Brook Parkway. Sprain Brook Parkway north to the Route 100/100C/Eastview exit. Turn left at the traffic light. Proceed through 3 additional traffic lights and make a right onto Route 9A North. Proceed through one more traffic light. LaGuardia Airport
East on the Grand Central Parkway, north on the Whitestone Expressway, and continue north across the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge. Continue with instructions from John F. Kennedy International Airport, above.

Newark International Airport
North on the New Jersey Turnpike (Route I-95). Stay in local lanes and take Exit 72 for Palisades Interstate Parkway. North on the Palisades Interstate Parkway to the New York State Thruway, Route I-87, and east across the Tappan Zee Bridge. Continue with instructions from New Jersey, above.

Stewart International Airport
Route 207 east to Route 300, north to Route I-84, east across Newburgh-Beacon Bridge to Taconic State Parkway, south. Continue with instructions from Upstate New York, above.
