- Research Statement
Rapid advances in information technology have been driving innovations towards increasing business efficiency by converting yet broader spectrum of business processes into e-business. In order to make the innovations continue, it is instrumental to be able to provide highly scalable information infrastructure which can accommodate the future capacity of the information services in a cost effective way. My research has been focused on how to improve the scalability of the key components of the information infrastructure which is foundational to the success of today's and future e-business environments. I have successfully achieved significant improvements in the scalability of information infrastructure through a series of innovative research results on the highly concurrent network servers, scalable directory / database, and SMB server and solutions after my doctoral study on the scalability of the cache coherence protocols in large scale multiprocessor servers. My research on the SMB server and solutions resulted in one of the 10 final innovation initiatives of IBM InnovationJam 2006.
